I never thought a bow would turn me into my group's lifeline, but here I am in 2026, still swapping between healer, crit machine, and long-range artillery depending on the night. The Longbow in Throne and Liberty is that flexible. It can dish out serious damage, debuff enemies, buff allies, and even heal. No joke, once you understand its rhythm, it feels like a Swiss army knife that also happens to hit like a truck.

How I Pair the Longbow
For me, pairing the Longbow with something that shares its range is the smoothest path. You can run it beside a melee weapon, but that takes creative skill choices. Most of the time, I stick with weapons that let me keep distance.

Wand and Tome
I first tried the Wand and Tome because I wanted to keep my friends alive. This combo has a singular focus: healing. It still deals damage with single-target and area-of-effect attacks, but both weapons shine as support tools, which made me the group's emergency rope.

Crossbow
Then I got bored of being the nice person and pulled out the Crossbow. This is mostly a single-target damage build, but the Gale effect adds some AoE potential. The skill specializations click together, and I felt like a rapid-fire turret.

Staff
Finally, the Staff. This is one of the premier ranged damage options in the game. The Staff brings huge single-target and multi-target attacks, and the Longbow accentuates that with its own single-target damage and debuffs.

Stats I Learned to Respect
Your stat priority changes somewhat based on your role, but the core stats stay similar. I just shuffle their order depending on what I am doing that night.

-
Wisdom: If you are building a healer, Wisdom is your best friend. Healing abilities need to be ready the moment they are necessary, and some harder content or PvP requires constant healing. If maximum Mana or Mana regen cannot keep up, you will not be able to heal when allies need you.
-
Dexterity: This is always one of my most important damage stats because it increases the chance of landing critical damage. Crits are a dice roll, but Dexterity stacks those dice in my favor, and that increases damage considerably.
-
Perception: Perception increases the chance of actually hitting the enemy. You cannot crit on an enemy you miss, so landing the hit has to be the first step.

Skills That Carry My Builds
The best skills depend on your role and how they interact with your other weapon. Even as a damage dealer, I keep a couple of healing or defensive tools in the mix for survivability. Here is what I have learned from field runs.
Longbow Core Skills
| Skill | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Deadly Marker | Buffs your own and teammates' damage against a target and reduces skill cooldowns. Bread and butter for damage dealers, and still useful for healers. |
| Healing Touch | The Longbow's primary heal. Short cooldown means I can keep it up almost permanently. |
| Nature's Blessing | A more involved heal with a longer cooldown, but it removes a Weaken effect and provides substantial health and Mana regen. |
| Ensnaring Arrow | Binds or shackles enemies. Combined with the Steady Aim passive, it greatly increases crit chances on those targets. |
| Decisive Sniping | Extremely high damage, increases crit chances after landing, and interacts with Whirlpool and crowd-controlled targets. |
| Zephyr's Nock | Solid damage that increases the further I am from the target, plus more damage for each Gale stack on the enemy. |
| Strafing | Quick-fire ability that can be recast immediately. Each hit applies one stack of Gale, setting up other skill interactions. |
| Brutal Arrow | One of the Longbow's few AoE attacks, and it can be specialized to inflict Gale on a location. |
For passives, I always keep Steady Aim with Ensnaring Arrow, Sniper's Sense for distance-based crits, and Rapidfire Stance when I can stand still. Roxie's Arrowhead is especially useful when running Crossbow, while Distorted Sanctuary and Earth's Blessing are healer-friendly.

Wand and Tome Skills I Use as a Healer
The Longbow/Wand build leans on Touch of Despair, Corrupted Magic Circle, Time for Punishment, Blessed Barrier, Invincible Wall, Fountain of Life, Swift Healing, and Clay's Salvation. The star passive is Vampiric Contract, because allies attacking cursed enemies heal themselves for the damage they deal. That changed how I think about healing entirely.
Crossbow Skills for Gale Synergy
Quick Fire, Mortal Mark, Mother Nature's Protest, Merciless Barrage, and Weak Point Shot all play nicely with the Longbow. Quick Fire applies Gale quickly, Mortal Mark works well with Deadly Marker, and Merciless Barrage can be specialized to apply Gale. Eagle Vision pairs beautifully with Sniper's Sense.
Staff Skills for Ranged Damage
Serial Fire Bombs, Chain Lightning, Inner Peace, Fireball Barrage, Ice Spear, High Focus, Judgment Lightning, and Salvation Chain keep my rotations deadly. I love Fireball Barrage on a Burning target, especially with Manaball Eruption for extra projectiles. Asceticism combines well with Rapidfire Stance, and Flame Condensation keeps the burn strong.

Honestly, the Longbow keeps surprising me. It is not just a damage weapon or a support weapon. It is whatever my party needs, and that is why I keep coming back to it.
