I still remember the first time I opened the map in Throne and Liberty and felt the world politely laugh at me. Saurodoma Island sat there at the edge of everything, all cliffs and strange shores, looking like a place I should already know how to reach. Honestly, I stared at that map like it owed me money. The answer, as it turned out, wasn’t a secret quest chain or a hidden NPC. It was a server milestone, a flying whale, and a little patience.
In 2026, the launch-era confusion around Saurodoma is mostly gone on long-running servers, but on fresh servers and early-access worlds the same gate still applies. The island is the final launch area for this part of the game’s progression, and it does not open just because I hit a level or finished a chapter. The whole server has to move first.
🐋 The Real Key: A Server Milestone
The first requirement is simple to say and slow to watch: my server must complete the Ruler of Lycan Milestone from Chapter 4, Frenzy of Wraiths. This is not a personal checkbox. It is a server-wide milestone, and milestones unlock after certain amounts of time once a server goes live. Early on, they pop every few hours; later, the rhythm stretches out to roughly every 12 hours. The Ruler of Lycan is the sixth milestone in that fourth chapter section, so it is not something I can rush by grinding mobs harder. I just have to let the world breathe.
To check progress, I open the game menu and go to the Milestone section. There I can see where my server stands and how far it still has to go. No shame in waiting — this is one of those moments where the game is less about my character and more about the whole server’s calendar.
| What I Need | Where I Check It | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Ruler of Lycan Milestone | Menu → Milestone | Unlocks the route to Saurodoma |
| Chapter 4: Frenzy of Wraiths | Milestone section | The milestone lives in this chapter |
| Sixth milestone in that section | Milestone progress | It is not an instant unlock |
| Level 50+ | Character progression | The island’s enemies and dungeons hit hard |
🪽 Riding the Gigantrite

Once Ruler of Lycan is done, the Gigantrite — that massive flying whale — adjusts its flight path and heads south toward Saurodoma Island. I love this part because the whale doesn’t teleport me or hand me a portal. It changes its route like a patient bus driver who has finally been told about the new stop. My job is to glide onto it from a high vantage point, hitch a ride, and enjoy the view.
When the Gigantrite reaches the island, I glide down, land, and activate the waypoint. That waypoint is the real prize. After activation, I can fast-travel back whenever I want. Trust me, the first trip is an adventure; every trip after that should be a convenience.
There is another way: I can swim to Saurodoma Island from Daybreak Shores. It works, but it is far more time-consuming than catching the whale. I tried it once, and my character probably deserved a towel and a hot drink afterward. If I’m not in a hurry, it’s a fun little endurance test. If I am in a hurry, the Gigantrite wins every time.
⚔️ Level 50 Is Not a Suggestion
I should be at least Level 50 before I go poking around Saurodoma. The island features several 50+ dungeons and enemies, and it is not a place I can safely wander into at any point in the game. There is a reason it is the last area to unlock for the server. The place has teeth.
So my checklist is short but strict:
-
✅ Wait for the Ruler of Lycan Milestone to complete on my server
-
✅ Check the Milestone menu to see how close we are
-
✅ Glide onto the Gigantrite from a high point
-
✅ Ride south, land on Saurodoma, and activate the waypoint
-
✅ Be ready for Level 50+ enemies and dungeons
In 2026, that remains the cleanest explanation I can give. Saurodoma Island isn’t hiding from me. It’s just waiting for the whole server to catch up…
